Allan was born to Benedict and Hildegard (nee Muyres) Korte in Humboldt, SK. He grew up on the Korte family farm north of Muenster and attended Golden Rule School from grades 1 to 8, then to high school in Muenster where he met his wife Karen Blanch and were married August 31, 1968. Allan’s work took him to Creighton, SK where he worked for Patrick Pipeline, then Thompson, MB in the mine and back to Saskatoon with Wilson Brothers where he got his Journeyman Sheet and Metal. The last job he had was Intercon/Mitchell’s where he worked 36.5 years and attained his Industrial Mechanic, Industrial Mobile Hydraulics and Welding certificates. He retired at age 60 and did shutdowns for Syl’s Mechanical Company for 5 years. Family was everything to him and in 1977, Allan moved the family to their first acreage in Pike Lake where he thought it would be a good place to raise his family and in 1998 to Merrill Hills closer to the city. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining the yard, making sausage, camping and fishing. He loved his sports, playing and coaching the boys in ball and hockey. Ball took him from coast to coast. He loved attending his grandchildren’s’ sporting events as well. He was also a big Blades fan. In retirement he also enjoyed travelling but always maintained that Saskatchewan was home and believed it was the best place to live! Allan also had a strong sense of community where he contributed by becoming involved in various community and church groups. Allan is survived by his wife of 52.5 years Karen and their children and families. Jason Korte of Saskatoon, Devin and Jennifer Korte of Martensville and their family: Conrad, Cash, Blake and great-grandchild Everleigh Korte. Curt and Lianne Korte of Saskatoon and son Hudson. His only living sibling Don Korte, Saskatoon. His sister-in-law Rosella (Mel) Hamel of Creighton, SK. Murray & Stephanie Blanch, Anne Menz, Mary & Roger Hofmann, Pat & Sharon Blanch, George and Dawn Blanch, Colleen & Tom Gray. He was predeceased by his parents Benedict and Hildegard Korte, twin siblings Mary and Norman in infancy, brothers Benno, Ernie and sisters Doreen (John) Kleefeld, Leona (Fred) Kleefeld, sisters-in-law Marie Korte and Marilyn Korte. In-laws Leo & Cecilia (Saretsky) Blanch, sister-in-law Bernadette (Blanch) and husband Don Danchilla, brother-in-law Bill Blanch and wife Maggie and brother-in-law Joe Menz.
