Beryle was born April 17, 1940 in Arborfield Saskatchewan, the second of four children.
She leaves behind a legacy to cherish her forever: daughters Melanie (Dean) Gallagher and Heather (Dale) Solie; her beloved grandchildren Justin (Andrea) Heroux, Janelle (Nicolas) Hipp, Benjamin (Kassidy) Solie, and Nicole Solie; and numerous nieces and nephews who each held a special place in her heart.
Beryle loved every moment spent with her family. She often spoke of her many cherished adventures on road trips and cruises with her sister Bev. She found joy in cooking for her children and grandchildren, believing that no meal was complete without a glass of good red wine. She loved playing cards, listening to old country music, and had a soft spot for every dog she met. She looked forward to watching her grandchildren play soccer and football and race at SIR. In true Saskatchewan fashion, she loved the Roughriders and enjoyed watching curling. Her favourite time of year was spring when she would plant her beautiful flowers and spend summer days enjoying them on the deck.
Beryle’s grandchildren were the absolute love of her life and she had a unique and special relationship with each of them. She often spoke of how proud she was of the people that they have become.
It is with great love that we remember her sharp wit, candor, generous loving spirit, and her sense of humour that kept us laughing even in her final moments. She was resilient and strong until the very end. We find great comfort in knowing that she is now pain free and enjoying her sister’s company.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff at Home Care and St. Paul’s Hospital for their exceptional kindness and support. We are especially grateful to Dr. Jodi Spelay for her compassion and care for our family, and to Dr. Paula Paley for her many years of dedicated service. Your support has been a profound gift to our family, and we will remain forever grateful.
To honour Beryle’s wishes there will be no formal service of remembrance. At her request, a celebration of life will be held by invitation at a later date. Please consider a memorial donation on her behalf to the Saskatoon Dog Rescue or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
