May 30, 1944 - October 7, 2017
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Kristine and many close friends. He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne and his parent Murray and Helen Elmore.
Bob was born and raised and spent most of his years in Saskatoon. He enjoyed careers in real estate, sales and as a courier where he got to showcase his outgoing personality.
Bob was an avid golfer all of his life and also enjoyed Badminton for many years. He loved folk music and the oldies and enjoyed challenging those he ran into to trivia on the subject. His larger then life personality will be missed by all those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday October 15, 2017 at 11:00am at Bob’s favourite place Riverside Country Club - 3180 Grasswood Rd West, Corman Park No. 344. This event will be casual and will include an open mic for people to share stories and memories.
Eulogy By Kristine Elmore
When it came time to find the perfect place to honor my dad there was only choice....his place of worship - the golf course. Some of my earliest memories are of being here at Riverside in the old club house. Being an only child meant that a lot of the time I tagged along with my parents instead of having a babysitter. So while they were hanging around with friends I got to be the explorer. I would make my rounds. Starting at the bar where the staff would always sneak me a chocolate bar, then it would be off to where the carts were parked for an imaginary race around the course, before heading back inside I would always wash a few golf balls clean my shoes! Then it would be off to the locker room for a foot washing before heading back to the lounge to see what else I could get up to. I felt very special because I had earned my own golf nickname - Littlejet- it didn't stick with me like The Jet did for my dad.
I really enjoyed tagging along with my dad when I was little and I'm sure it was good for his ego. We would go to daddy's car wash, then to daddy's office where I would request daddy's office song - Music Box Dancer - don't know why that was the song. As I got older he tried hanging on to the star treatment and even convinced me to caddy for him once - however once I realized there was no music, not much talking and manual labor I lost all interest.
He was one of those people who knew EVERYBODY and as a teenager it mortified me! We even ran into somebody he knew at the Enchanted Forest in BC. As time passed I have learned to realize that is an endearing quality. He loved interacting with people and most of the time they loved interacting with him too.
Even though his health had not been great for several years he had the quality of somebody you always expected to be around. So I don't think there would have been a way to be prepared for him to go. Thank you everybody for joining us today and I look forward to hearing some of your stories and memories!
