

Brigetta Hagel (Dietz), age 98, passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Brigetta was born March 28, 1916 in Sceptre, Saskatchewan. She married Joseph Hagel and then moved to Allan, Saskatchewan where they raised their five children. Brigetta is survived by her children Doreen (Peter) Senger, Raymond (Dorothy); daughter-in-law Audrey Hagel; son-in-law Alex Shklanka; grandchildren Sheila Senger, Arleen Koob, Dean (Stephanie) Senger, Mark (Marina) Shklanka, David Shklanka, Donald Shklanka, Tricia Hagel (Ron), Darren Haesch, Wendy (Perry) Allenbach, Rhonda (John) Mattern, Charlene (Rob) Grasdahl, Dwayne (Nicole) Hagel, Danny, Derek and Dale (Michelle) Hagel; and 27 great-grandchildren. Brigetta was predeceased by her husband Joseph (1992); children Rose (Ron) Haesch, Adele Shklanka and Victor Hagel; and grandson Bradley Hagel. Mom lived at Saint Ann’s Place for the past 21 years and always looked forward to the coffee party every Wednesday. She loved quilting and spent many hours with her good friends in Allan making over 3,000 quilts for the Friendship Inn. She also loved gardening spending endless hours digging in the dirt and harvesting many bountiful vegetable crops. We wish to thank her good friends Isabel, Sister Margaret and Pat Sawatsky, who were always there for her at Saint Ann’s home and lifelong friend Clara, who played cards with her every week. Thank you also to the staff of St. Paul’s Hospital for taking such good care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Saint Ann’s Senior Citizens’ Village (2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK S7J 3L8). The Vigil for Brigetta will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 1st at St. Ann's Chapel (2910 Louise St). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2nd at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Plc). The Rite of Committal will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Allan at St. Aloysius Parish Cemetery.
