Carol Marie Johnson

Carol passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mom was raised in Bredenbury/Esterhazy area then moved to Regina to attend the Regina General Hospital School of Nursing where she made lasting friends. She worked for the VON and at the General Hospital until moving to Saskatoon in 1979. In Saskatoon she worked at St Paul’s Hospital in the operating room until retirement. Mom volunteered with several organizations including the Nutana Lioness Club, Canadian Blood Services and Council on Aging and was a long-time member of Mayfair United Church. Mom was very crafty and a great baker; we have all received many homemade gifts which we will treasure, especially her amazing quilts. She was the best mom, grandma/nana, GG, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed by her children: Marianne (Rob) Carr, Leanne Gariepy (Hal Murdock), Phillip (Jill) Johnson, Donna (Cory) Regier; grandchildren: Christopher (Tashelle) Gariepy, Graham (Dana) Gariepy, Spencer (Meaghan) Carr, Kylie (Armand) Schellenburg, Riley Carr, Kayla Carr (Derek Holfeld), Evan Regier, Anna Johnson and Amy Johnson; great-grandchildren: Cohen, Calyx, Cayson, Sophia, Dax, Ellie, Griffin and Sophie; brother Willard (Deanna) Wiley; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. At Mom’s request there will be no funeral, a Private Family Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
