Connie was a deeply loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was known for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering care for the people in her life. Connie’s home was always open, and the coffee pot was always on—a place where friends and neighbours were welcomed, stories were shared, and no one ever felt like a burden.
Family was the center of Connie’s world. She took great pride in caring for those she loved and found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life. Connie loved to craft and sew, tended to her flowers with care, and was happiest when baking - especially at Christmas, when her kitchen was filled with abundance and generosity, and no one ever left empty-handed or hungry.
After the passing of her beloved husband Bob in August, Connie faced a season of profound change. She carried her grief with resilience and grace, doing her best to create a new sense of normal while continuing to offer warmth and love to those around her.
Connie will be remembered for her kindness, her open heart, and the comfort she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the traditions she created, and the love that remains deeply felt.
She is survived by her daughter Pam (Kevin Shoults); her grandchildren Bron and Alexa; her son Shawn and his wife Shannon; her nephew Chad Sayers (Dallas) and his children Steele and Kim; her sister Lenore (Clark) Pepper and her daughters Candace and Haley; as well as extended family and friends.
She is also lovingly remembered by her closest friends and neighbours, Sandra Schmidt and Isabelle Laschilier, whose friendship and daily connection meant so much to her.
Connie was predeceased by her husband Bob; her parents Gus and Kate Sankey; her brothers Raymond and Lloyd; and her sister Vivian.
In keeping with Connie’s wishes, no service will be held.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the love we were given and the memories that will continue to warm us—like a pot of coffee always ready for one more cup.
