Danica (Dani) Anne Gibson was born April 4, 1951 in Calgary, AB to Harold and Anne (Montgomery) Gibson. She grew up in Calgary running free with friends, playing football and getting into all sorts of shenanigans. Dani went to school and obtained a degree in social work. She met her first husband, Harold Heinrichs, while working at Hull home in Calgary. They got married, had Kaelyn and Ryan and moved to Saskatoon. After their separation Dani continued her career with social work doing caseloads for the government and then began working primarily in the school system. Dani married Tony Heit, they raised Kaelyn and Ryan together for many years and had great times out at Shuswap Lake during the summers. After their separation, Dani moved to Calgary to get her Masters in Social Work. Upon completion, she returned to Saskatoon to work and Ryan moved back in while he attended University. After a few years she was wanting a new start in the beautiful town of High River, Alberta. She met new friends and loved going out dancing with them! There she did some work in the school system and then transitioned into her own counseling and Reiki business. Amongst this full life she was given a son in-law Colin Quinton and a daughter in-law Amy Potie. This, then of course, led to several beautiful grandchildren: Willow and Saxon Quinton and then Rio and Isla Heinrichs. In late 2013, Dani was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Shortly after her diagnosis she moved to Brooks with Kaelyn and family until Ryan and Amy’s house was built. In 2015, Dani moved to Saskatoon, where she lived with the assistance of two wonderful caregivers, Lilly and Lynne, who loved her dearly. Dani will always be remembered by her friends and family for having an amazing sense of humor, being a strong woman, her love of dancing and her love for her dogs and horses! Dani passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2022. Arrangements in care of Mandi Wasylkowski of Acadia McKague’s Funeral Centre. (306)955-1600
