His mother Agnes, 9 siblings Jerry (Sheri), Jane (Walt), Tim (Chris), Susan (Peter), Mark (Dana), Paul (Gina), Tom (Wren), Allan (Colleen) and Christine. Dan is also survived by his father-in-law John Lindsay and many nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his father John, mother-in-law Bernadine and sister-in-law Marie Wagar. Dan was born in Saskatoon on May 15, 1958. He attended St Francis Elementary School and Holy Cross High School. After graduation Dan went on to study auto mechanics at Kelsey Institute and then worked at Merlin Motors just like his father. He actually worked in the same mechanic bay as his father had years prior. In 1979 Dan started his career in the mining industry at Patience Lake Potash mine as a labourer. He worked and studied his way to obtaining his Millwright ticket. Mining was his passion and he held several positions until his retirement as a Senior Maintenance Planner in 2014. Dan enjoyed his time at the family cabin at Pike Lake and made many lifelong friends there. Always volunteering to lend a hand, work on a project, and assist any neighbor that needed help even if they didn’t ask for it. Many friends and family were the recipients of Dan’s “Garage Art”, creations he produced with his welder. Creativity was sometimes sparked by a little Rye with the boys in the shop. Dan was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. If Dan knew you and you needed help he was always there. Words used to describe Dan would include “humble, kind, loyal, knowledgeable, resourceful, determined and a bit stubborn” Dan will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Thank you to everyone that contributed in any way following his diagnosis. We are grateful. Please join us at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 27, 2023 for a Celebration of Dan’s Life at the Community Hall located in the Town of Pike Lake.
