Dean Shier succumbed to cancer on August 4, 2017. Dean, son of Herb and the late Gudrun Shier, was brother to Donna (Tim) Korol, Pat (Denis Chalifour), Peggy, and Joanne Shier and was uncle to several nieces and nephews. Dean grew up on a farm near Colonsay, SK and graduated from Colonsay School in 1979. He had degrees in Agriculture and Engineering from the U of S. His career as a mechanical engineer was based in Calgary. Dean had a great thirst for knowledge. His interests included recipes, history, CBC radio, theatre, travel and political satire. The Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 20 at 1:30 pm at The Willows Golf and Country Club, Saskatoon, SK. Cash Bar. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Colonsay Recreation Board – Swimming Pool. Arrangements in have been entrusted to Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (306.955.1600)
