Obituary of Donna Anne Crone
It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Anne Crone (Nee: Yingst) announce her passing on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the age of 85, following a battle with cancer. Donna was predeceased by her loving husband (Royden) George Crone, father Howard Yingst, Mother Laura Yingst, and daughter Laura Weightman. Donna is survived by her four children, Gordon (Pauline) Crone, Royden (Valerie) Crone, Heather Crone and Leanne Crone as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna grew up near Brooking, Saskatchewan, before marrying George Crone in the Spring of 1956. They raised their children on their farm near Ceylon, Saskatchewan, before moving to Radville where they lived for many years while Donna worked in the kitchen of the Radville Marian Health Centre. After George retired, the couple moved to Saskatoon where Donna worked at the Western Development Museum in the Boomtown Cafe before her own retirement. Donna’s many hobbies through the years included, baking, camping, curling, travelling, cross-stitching, crocheting and quilting, but the true joy of her life was her family and friends. One of her favorite pass times was meeting new people and figuring out who they knew in common. There was always a pot of coffee on and she was always willing to add another potato to the pot if you wanted to stay for supper. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon). The service will also be live streamed, visit www.faithproductions.ca/livestream to view. A private interment will follow in Radville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saskatoon Cancer Centre. Arrangements in care of David Polzen.
