Edith Demers

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Edith Elizabeth (Hjelt) Demers November 27, 2016 at St. Paul’s Hospital.   Edith was born January 15, 1929 to Alex and Linda Hjelt.  She was the youngest of seven children growing up on a farm southwest of Dinsmore.  After finishing school she became a telephone operator in Outlook.  On October 23, 1950 she married Lionel Demers and they farmed in the R.M. of King George.  In 1971 they moved permanently to Fernie, BC making new friends and a career working the front desk of the Fernie Motor Inn.  She enjoyed her art, grand and great-grandchildren.  In 2006 they moved back to Saskatoon.  Edith is survived by her sister, Gladys Hamilton; her daughter, Barb Hedger; grandchildren, Travis Hedger (Melanie), Jody Erickson (Blaine); great grandchildren, Ashley, Rachel, Katlyn, Madisyn, Peyton and John.  Dearly loved and missed.  The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 3 at the Dinsmore United Church.  In lieu of flowers or a charity, the family ask you to remember Edith with a kind gesture or deed to someone in need.  Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200)
