Elaine Ann Brownridge

Elaine did her schooling years in Tisdale, and then attended Kelsey SIAST in Saskatoon for hairdressing, graduating in 1976. After that she was a hairdresser in Tisdale for a time.

She married Gerald (Jerry) Brownridge on October 30th 1982, the day before Jerry's birthday so he'd never forget their anniversary.

Shortly after their wedding their only child, a daughter, Tamara Elaine Brownridge was born in Trail British Columbia on January 25th 1983.

She owned her own salon, Snip'N'Curl in Fruitvale BC from 1984 to 1985 when the family followed Jerry to Pine Point North West Territories when Tamara was a year and a half old. Following that they moved around to Tisdale area, back to the N.W.T and to Tumbler Ridge BC at the closure of the mine in the N.W.T. From there it was off to The Pas Manitoba, to Saskatchewan where they moved around back and forth between Tisdale and Saskatoon and Martensville before settling on the family farm outside of Saskatoon to raise elk from 1996 until Jerry passed away in December of 2010. Elaine sold the farm in October of 2011 and then Elaine and Tamara moved into Saskatoon hauling along as many pets as Tamara could cram into the house. Elaine lived in her Saskatoon home from October of 2011 until her passing.

During her life she worked as a hairdresser, did house cleaning and various other jobs such as checking homes for her Snowbird clients.

She did many years of volunteering with Brownies and Girl Guides with Tamara followed by a few years of 4-H after Tamara got her horse Thunder in 1997.

In August of 2017 Tamara welcomed her son, Anakin Brownridge, born on the 29th, 3 weeks early landing exactly on Helen's birthday, what would've been her 99th. Elaine predicted his birthday, his gender and even that he'd be born via c-section.

Anakin was a light in Elaine's life, she loved him so much, especially since Tamara and Anakin lived with her until her passing.

She will always be remembered for her cheerful, bubbly, quirky demeanor and for being a devoted "Corner Gas" fan.

Elaine is survived by daughter Tamara, grandson Anakin, sister Joyce (Russ) Babich with their sons Jeff and Brad. Brothers Rae (Kay) Butt and their children Darryl, Sheryl and Brian Butt. Allen (Pat) Butt and their sons, Greg, Devin and Layne,sisters-in-law Marlene (Don) Irving and their children Colin, Leanne and Kevin. Muriel (Barry) Miskuski and their daughters Laurel and Lesley. Lynda (Ron) Elle and their son Aaron as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and several cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents George (1970) and Helen Butt (1995). In-Laws Jim (1994) and Margaret Brownridge (1991).
