With sad hearts we announce the passing of Elfrieda Nowottnick, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother at the age of 88 at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon, SK. Frieda Nowottnick was born in Bryszcze, Poland, the 5th child of 7 children of German parents, Martha and Emmanuel Marohn. She immigrated to Canada on September 24th, 1948 and settled in Calgary where she raised four children. In 1969 she married William Nowottnick and moved to Penticton, BC in 1978. She moved to Saskatoon with her husband in 1996 where she spent the later part of her years living next to her daughter. She loved spending time with family and especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, bird watching and baking. She also loved dancing, bowling, and playing cards with her husband. She will be remembered for her soft spoken, friendly caring nature and sense of humor. She was always there for moral support. Frieda was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) and her six siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Anneliese Lane (Rick); sons, Gustav Krueger (Carmen), Victor Krueger (Marg Ward), Kevin Nowottnick (Carol Pakkala); her grandchildren, Clayton (Michelle), Yvonne (Murray), Michelle (Sheldon) and Glen (Amy); as well as her great-grandchildren, Abigale, Quin, Nathaniel, Brandon, Jessica, and Madison. She will be dearly missed and always lovingly remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. A Service to commemorate Frieda’s life will be held at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon) on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00AM.
