Elizabeth (Betty) Helen Pearson (nee MacIntyre) passed at home in her sleep on July 21, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by Bob, her husband of 61 years; son, Brad (Kathy) of Prince Albert and grandchildren, Adam (Kelsey) of Prince Albert and Ellen (Cody) of Saskatoon; her son, Brent of Saskatoon; her son, Bruce of Saskatoon and grandchildren, Josh of Berlin, Germany, and Jayde of Saskatoon. She is also survived by her brother, Alex of Kindersley; sisters-in-law, Blanche (Orv) of Edmonton, and Helen (Doug) of Airdrie; brother-in-law, Bill (Phyllis) of Calgary; Scottish cousin, Ian Cuthbertson of Dunfermline, Scotland and his children, John, Malcolm, and CC; many nieces and nephews, and numerous lifelong friends we consider family.
Betty was born in Eston, SK on June 20, 1930. She returned there after a brief adventure in the banking industry in Ottawa. Upon returning home she married Bob and started their family in Eston. A five year stop in Humboldt preceded the 47 years spent in Saskatoon. She enjoyed her February journeys to Mesa, Arizona and skiing in Banff and Jasper. She was an accomplished seamstress, bridge player, pianist, and pie maker extraordinaire. She was actively involved in the community and one of her passions was the Consumers Association of Canada for which she served as President. Her sharp mind and wit kept all who knew her entertained. Those qualities explain some of her lifelong friendships spanning 50 or 60 years.
She will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street - Corner of Windsor St and 8th Ave North, Saskatoon). For those unable to attend, webcasting will be available at www.windsorchapelsaskatoon.com. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of Cheryl Carlson - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200)
