

It is with great sadness to announce that Elmer (Crow) Kowalenko passed away on April 22, 2020 peacefully in his sleep at home with his wife Diana. Elmer was born on March 12, 1940 to William and Nellie Kowalenko in Cudworth, Saskatchewan. During those years, Elmer’s parents owned and operated the Wakaw hotel. Later Elmer attended high school in Regina at Campion College. Elmer worked at the mines in Manitoba and Ontario. Finally settling down in Saskatoon, SK. where he met his wife Diana Yuzdepski and the two were married on April 23, 1966. They lovingly welcomed their son Kerry on July 16, 1966, completing their family with their daughter Kimberly on August 15, 1967. Elmer had a full life where he enjoyed playing and watching sports, he and Diana never missed watching the Brier and Elmer was involved in horseracing and owned several thoroughbred horses. He had a passion for “the blacktop” which he spent most of his life perfecting while owning and operating Acey Paving. Elmer always had family and friends surrounding him throughout his entire career. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Diana, their two children Kerry and Kimberly (Lonnie), grandson Travis (Kayley) and great grandson Benjamin Beaudry. His in-laws Bernie (Audrey) Yuzdepski, Brian (Carol) Yuzdepski, Sharon Yuzdepski, Barry Yuzdepski and Pam (Brent) Kostyk also celebrate him. He had many nieces and nephews whom he was very proud of. He is predeceased by his parents William and Nellie Kowalenko along with his brother John Kowalenko, In-laws William and Anne Yuzdepski, Lawrence “Suzy” Yuzdepski and Wilfred Yuzdepski.
