Elvira grew up on a farm just south of Lucky Lake, enjoying a happy childhood filled with family and hard work. She attended school in Lucky Lake and carried her strong work ethic throughout her life—she never did anything halfway. On July 11, 1956, she married Wayne Saunders, and together they built a life on their farm east of Lucky Lake. Elvira was a gifted cook and baker; her harvest meals delivered to the field were legendary. Her home was always warm and spotless, a reflection of her pride and care. She loved celebrations—Halloween and Christmas were her favorites—and she brought joy to every gathering.
Elvira had a zest for life, a love of music and dancing, and a special delight in watching her children and grandchildren in all their activities. Ice cream was her guilty pleasure, and laughter was her gift to everyone around her. Above all, Elvira was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She never judged, always forgave, and spoiled her grandchildren. Her five children cherish memories of her guidance, patience, love of family, and unwavering optimism. Elvira leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and warm memories that will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Left to celebrate her life are her children and their families: Raymond (Cheryl)- grandchild Adam (Kristy), great-grandchildren Maia, Brynlee; grandchild Jared (Heather), great grandchildren Keira, Amelia, Kwanele; grandchild Ben (Kelsey); grandchild Luke, Deborah (Kwynn) - grandchild Mandy (Andreas), great grandchild Peter.
