Ernest Joseph Amedee Laliberte

Ernest “Ernie” Amedee Laliberte, born February 28, 1932 passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2022 at the age of 89. Ernie was born and raised in St. Denis, SK and settled on his own land near St. Denis in 1951 where he lived the rest of his life. He will be remembered fondly as a man who always had a smile and a joke and a never ending supply of life hacks from gardening to mechanics to horses to natural medicinal remedies. One of his greatest qualities was his insatiable thirst for learning, always tinkering, experimenting, and inventing new things. He will be dearly missed by his children, Shirley (Jim) Jochim, Miles Laliberte, Christine (Bill) Unger, Fay (Richard) Thompson, Rick (Narie) Laliberte; granddaughters, Victoria, Jennifer, Shaleen, Nicole, Natalie; grandsons, Aaron, Nico, Mathiew, Thomas; great-grandchildren, Conrad, Zoë, and Oliver. He is survived by his loving sister and brother, Helene and David. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, his son Gary, his parents Amedee and Zoeline, and his siblings, Laurent, Florence, Aline, Leah, Cora, Cecile, and Phillipe. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Denis Community Hall on Saturday March 5th at 1:00 pm. Rev. Bill Unger as Celebrant. Rite of Committal to follow in the St. Denis Parish Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
