

It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Earnest “Ernie” John Belke on December 3, 2015. Ernie is survived by two brothers Ron (Marlene) and Don (Rita); nephew Brad (Eliza) and their children Alex, Jacob and Shaylee Belke; and nieces Bev (Billy) and their children Everett, William and Oliver Waldner, Heather (Ruben) and their son Aidan Jeffery, and Debra (Emmanuel) and their children Sean, Liam and Sophie Allard. He was predeceased by his parents Henry (1964) and Julia (1997) Belke. Ernie was born December 4, 1947 and grew up on the Belke homestead near Aberdeen. He attended Friedland School, Aberdeen Composite School and Aden Bowman Collegiate. He worked at various jobs in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Saskatoon, ending his working career with 32 years as Sales Rep at Saskatoon Boiler, he retired in March 2015. Ernie also had 35 years of service with the Saskatoon Downtown Lions Club, and had a life membership with Lions Club International and received several awards including the Melvin Jones, Judge Brian Stevenson Award and the Harry A. Newman Diabetes Award. Memorial donations may be made to the Lions’ Foundation of Saskatchewan (Box 1568, Unity, SK S0K 4L0), Canadian Blood Services (325 – 20th St East, Saskatoon, SK S7K 0A9) or a charity of your choice. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12th at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St, off Warman Rd).
