February 22, 1931 – May 26, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Fabian. He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth; his soul mate and wife of 63 years. His children Elizabeth (Stu Hooper), Veronica, and Frank (Janine). Grandchildren Seth (Tania), Matthew (Rachelle), Lindsay, Allyce, Carly, Isabel, Lucas and great-grandson Van. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters in Hungary. Family values and hard work were instilled in Frank at an early age. Being the eldest of twelve children, he was forced to grow up quickly during WWII in Hungary. Frank and Elizabeth were married October 24, 1951. They immigrated to Canada after the 1956 Hungarian revolution with daughter Elizabeth and Frank’s brother George. In the early 1960’s he became a partner in establishing Superior Auto Body. In 1983, he opened Fabian’s Auto Body, which he operated until his retirement in 1995. Following that, Frank and Elizabeth enjoyed many winters in Mesa, AZ. Frank worked hard to provide for his family but also took time to enjoy camping, fishing, hunting and golfing. Frank and Elizabeth took several trips back to Hungary to visit with family. He was always very proud of his Hungarian heritage and was an active member of the Hungarian Society of Saskatoon. Frank’s gentle and kind soul was evident to everyone who knew him. His family and his love for them was his greatest accomplishment and he was so proud of them all. He has left an imprint in each of their lives and will be greatly missed. The Vigil for Frank will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31st and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1st. Both services will be held at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place). Arrangements in care of Wally Markewich - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200)
