It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Kreller on Monday, February 26, 2024 at RUH after a lengthy illness. Garry was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Garry leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Emily (Cross), sons Colin (Juliet) Kreller of Orange, CA, Darren (Susan) Kreller of Deer Valley, SK and daughter Crystal (Michael) Horvath of Warman, SK; grandchildren Ethan, Adam, Sydney, Jayda, Bailey, Nicholas, and great grandchildren Jackson and Ava; sisters Karen (Ernie) Cardell, Gail (Henry) Berg, sister-in-law Lynn Klassen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Retta Kreller, in laws Harold and Mary Cross and brother-in-law Len Klassen.
Garry and Emily were high school sweethearts and quickly settled into married life in their lifelong home in Saskatoon, SK where they raised their three children. For many years he was active in old timer’s hockey where he appreciated the camaraderie of many of his fellow players. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, building cabinets and furniture. He was forever working on his next project. They went on many adventures together and enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the US, in both their motorhome and Airstream trailer. They spent many winters in Palm Springs, CA where they met and made many new friends.
Garry was proud of his career as a mechanical contractor, with his partnership in Saskatoon Mechanical and later as a mechanical consultant with Daniels Wingerak Engineering Ltd. He was a proud member of the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) and served as President of MCA Saskatchewan and went on to serve a term as President of MCA Canada. He was honored at the MCA Canada Conference in Puerto Rico with an MCA Canada Life Member Award for his many contributions. One of his greatest accomplishments was his involvement during the construction of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
In keeping with Garry’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. He will be lovingly remembered by his family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to STARS at give.stars.ca or the Saskatoon SPCA.
Rest in peace my love. E.
Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt.
