George passed away peacefully at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born in Pilger, SK to Leo and Katherine Hueser. He attended St. Bernard School until Grade 8 and then went to work on the family farm. On June 3, 1957, George married the love of his life, Darlene Frank and moved to Humboldt and worked on heavy duty equipment at J.J. Sawatsky/Massey Harris and JIK Case Implement Dealers for a number of years. He went on to work at the St. Elizabeth Hospital heating plant for 12 ½ years. In 1974 George moved his family to Saskatoon where he worked as a boiler operator at the Saskatoon Airport, Royal Bank and the City of Saskatoon - Pools Division. Before going into full retirement, George worked part-time with the Commissionaires. He fully retired at the age of 75. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. George was a loving husband and father who enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his family and weekly golf games. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and wood working in his shop. George was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Katherine, and three brothers: Tony (Bernice), Isadore and Joe (Gertrude); three brothers-in-law Werner Luke, Lawrence Wourms and Wilfred Thrienen. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Darlene of 60 years; his children Darby (Suzanne); Myrna (Zane) Pikowicz; Laura (Al) Johanson; Wilbur (Marilyn) and Anita (Tim) Leniuk; 12 grandchildren: Amanda & Erin; Christy & Bobbi; Ian & Steven; Candace, Nicole & Jennifer; Megan, Amy & Matthew; and 13 great-grandchildren. George is survived by his remaining brother Jerome; and sisters: Christine Luke, Clara Thrienen and Veronica Wourms; and sister-in-law Rita Hueser. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Peter the Apostle Parish (1121 Northumberland Ave.) in Saskatoon. The Rite of Committal will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
