Gerald "Gerry" Julius Jessel

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gerald “Gerry” Jessel, at the age of 86 on July 30, 2022. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters and brother in laws, Gertie (Ralph) Hazelwanter, Lorayne (Donald) Hammerer, sister in law Joanne Jessel, numerous nieces, nephews and good friends Akiko Tomita and Rick Cherry. Gerry was a quiet, private man who was part of a large amazing family. He was a carpenter by trade and many of our family homes, renovations and furniture were built by this talented man. He took pride in his work and craftsmanship. Gerry was a man of very few words but the love and pride he had for his nieces and nephews was very apparent and he very much enjoyed his time spent in their company. Gerry's home was always filled with barking, wagging tails and lots of licks and that is how he loved it. His pups gave him great comfort and immense joy. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Jessel, sister Eva, brother Jacob, sisters and brother in laws: Maria (Leo) Clavelle, Margaret (Patrick) Carson, Madeline (George) McDonald, Katherine (August) Kramer, Dorothy (Ronald) Schmidt, brothers Geoffrey and Joseph, nephew Andrew McDonald, niece Julie Reeves, nephew Lyle Hazelwanter, great niece Courtney Hammerer, great nephew Cole Schatz, great great niece Alyssa Reeves and great great nephew Jasper Bradford and his loved, furry companions: Cindy, Misty, Missy and Cesar. “He knew we needed each other...to hug, to help, to teach, to share… to love.” A Memorial Service will be held for Gerry on Friday, August 5 at 2:00 pm at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, SK).
