"The relief of pain that dominated for years has finally arrived, you gently turned the final page of your book of life, no need for wiping those million tears that you cried, a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a loving wife."
The lifelong pain and suffering for Gloria has finally come to an end. On March 14, 2025, nine days before her 81st birthday, peace finally came to her. She no longer had to battle the pain from polio, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. There never was a stronger woman in our lifetime.
Gloria left behind two daughters, Cathy (Daryl) and Cheri (Barry), who are able to recall memories that will bring them peace in the future. Memories like sewing, crafting, playing piano, gardening, camping, and most of all, watching curling. She installed inspiration, motivation, and self-respect in her girls, which carry on to this day.
She also leaves behind a sister, Lynn (Brian), and many nieces and nephews who will also feel the loss of this wonderful woman. Her humor and concern for everyone will be missed. But most of all, she leaves behind her best friend and husband of nearly 61 years, Ken. He stood by her side for better or worse, sickness and health, and richer or poorer. They took their vows to heart.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the cancer society, arthritis society, or plant a tree for her. By request of the family, there will be no memorial or funeral. Thank you to all the hospital staff at RUH and paramedics who showed such kindness and care to our loved one.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Shane Lilley with Mourning Glory Funeral Services, (306) 978-5200.
