July 17, 1958 ~ October 7, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Dziendzielowski. Following a four year courageous battle with cancer, Gord passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2016, with his wife Bev at his side. He was dearly loved and will be remembered by his wife Bev; his children, Curtis (Melissa), Derek (Charlotte), Tara (Brent) and Dayna; his grandchildren, Piersyn, Nixon, Peter and Alexis; his mother, Rita; and siblings, Jeanine, Don (Sheila), Carmen (Al) and Lori (Gregg); his mother-in-law, Hilda; and extended siblings, Dorlean (Joe), Jack (Darcie) and Jim; also by the many nieces and nephews he adored. Gordon is predeceased by his father, Peter; grandparents, Lawrence, Julia, Michael and Caroline; his brother in law, Glen; nephew, Mark; and father in law, Joe. Gordon was a devoted husband for 38 years, having been together, with his wife Beverly, for 41 wonderful years. Not only were Gord and Bev husband and wife, but they were best friends, spending most of their lives enjoying life together. He was a loving father and grandfather, sharing some of their favourite past times of hunting, fishing, camping and tobogganing together. Gordon was a hardworking and a well-respected employee of Amec since 1978. He had a love of hockey that he shared with his sons, and was a part of minor hockey for many years. In 2001, Gord received the coach of the year award, for all his hard work and dedication to the young hockey players in the league. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at the Neurology department, Cancer Clinic and St. Paul’s Palliative Care for their tremendous care and compassion over the last several years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at 10:30am. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit or Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306-978-5200)
