

It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce the passing of Gordon Shillington on June 6, 2015 at the age of 94 years with his family by his side. Gordon was born in Delisle, SK to Russell & Ellen Shillington. Gordon served with the RCAF during World War II. Following the war, in 1945 he returned to Saskatoon where he met and married Eleanor. Gordon delivered bread and then he worked for the Department of Highways for 12 years. Following that, he worked for A&A Delivery and then he became an owner/operator driver at United Cab for many years. He then worked to Buzz Transport as a bus driver for 10 years until retirement. Gordon belonged to the Saskatoon Elks Club for several years, where he enjoyed socializing and dancing. He lived for many years at Scott-Forget Towers until his final move to Sherbrooke Community Centre, where he lived for the last four years. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Ellen, brothers Howard, Wilbur, Norman, Don and Lyle, sister Patricia, daughters Dorothy and Judy and his companion of several years Phylllis. Left to mourn his passing are his son, Bob and his wife Pam, grandchildren Susan, Conrad (Terri), Doug, Scott (Arlene) and Lisa (Chris) and several great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at House 5 at Sherbrooke Community Centre for the outstanding care they gave to Gordon during the last four years. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June11, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Sherbrooke. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sherbrooke would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (306.955.1600)
