We are saddened by the loss of Guy Houle. Guy’s memory will remain in the hearts of his loving wife Yolande, sons Roland (Sue), Rupert (Jan), Jerry (Karen), Larry (Pam), daughter, Michelle (Roger) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Norman, daughter Anita and ten brothers and one sister.
Guy was born May 7, 1931, in Bellevue, Saskatchewan. In 1952, he married Yoyo and settled on the family farm. In 1954, he and his brother, Bud were struck with Polio which left him unable to continue to farm. Never one to complain, he packed up his family and moved to Spiritwood to start up a successful electrical business. Initially started as Northwest Electric, he bought out his brother and expanded into the furniture business, which is now known as Guys Furniture. Guys Furniture continues to be run as a family business and now has four locations across Saskatchewan.
Guy’s favorite pastime was playing cards and poker with friends. Guy was a seasoned traveler and had many great years down south. The family would like to thank the staff at Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon where he had a short but comfortable stay.
