It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. Mom passed away peacefully at 98 in Saskatoon at Circle Drive Special Care Home. Mom was born in Denmark and the family moved to Canada when she was 6, settling in Melfort. Mom eventually moved to Saskatoon where she met and married Len in 1945. Her career highlights included working at Eaton’s for many years selling records and later owning her own record shop, Music Mall in Market Mall. In the meantime she managed to raise three wonderful kids. Mom was involved in many community organizations like St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, the Nutana Legion, the Elks and Royal Purple. She loved spending time at the cabin, which they owned for over 50 years, at Waskesiu Lake with family and friends. Other than the lake, her sporting interests included the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays, and watching curling. Mom was predeceased by her husband Len who passed away 30 years ago to the day, grandson Tyler Fawcett, parents Walter and Joanne Winthrop and siblings Eric and Esther. Left to cherish Mom’s memories are Gary, Andrea and Scott Craig, Gail, Doug and Myla Fawcett and Glenn and Joanne Craig. At this time, no Funeral Service will be held. Mom will be laid to rest at the Columbarium at St. John’s in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Circle Drive Special Care Home (3055 Preston Ave. S., Saskatoon SK S7T 1C3) or to a charity of your choice.
