June 14, 1927 – May 31, 2021
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Helen Unrau, who died peacefully on May 31, 2021 at the age of 93 years. After a full life on earth she is reunited with her husband Walter, parents, siblings and friends in God’s care. She will be greatly missed but lives on in the memories of her two children, son Vern (Elvira) Unrau and daughter Deanna (Norm) Weimer; her four grandchildren Kevin (Kara) Peters Unrau, Brian (Jenny) Unrau, Brent (Shelli Trudel) Weimer and Lisa (Neil) Knorr; her nine great-grandchildren Micah, Lucas, Owen, Leah, Cassidy, Gavin, Lauryn, Connor and Mya; her sisters-in-law Tina Nickel and Lenora Unrau; as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Helen Unrau will be held on Monday, June 7th, at 9:30 a.m. Due to COVID restrictions limiting indoor gathering, a graveside service will be held at Pleasant Point Mennonite Church cemetery. Masks and distancing are required and no food or beverages can be served. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen’s name would be appreciated to either Mennonite Central Committee or Circle Drive Special Care Home. The family extends its gratitude to the staff at Circle Drive Special Care Home for the exceptional and loving care provided. Thank you to the many friends and family who visited Helen there.
