Herb Richard Tressel

Herb passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Saskatoon with his wife of 55 years by his side. He was born in Neudorf, SK on March 14, 1948. He was raised on a farm until he moved to Regina. There he met his wife, Janet, and they were happily married on April 4, 1970.

They moved to Cranbrook BC, and Grande Prairie AB, but eventually returned to their roots in Saskatchewan when they moved to Saskatoon in 1984 where they remain today. He was a construction/renovation worker by trade but was handy with everything. He was always fixing something around the house or yard, and always willing to help friends and family with any project. He loved spending time with family and with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents; John and Mary Tressel, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Eileen Kirkpatrick; brothers, Norman (Lorraine) Tressel, John (Janette) Tressel and sister, Sharon (Cliff) Rusk.

He leaves behind to mourn his wife Janet (Kirkpatrick), five children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Randy (Michelle), Brooke, Jack, Lauren; Greg (Jackie), Sarah and daughters Lillian and Ember, Sydney (Peyton) and daughter Aurelia; Kim (Debbie), Destinee and son Flynn, Josh, Claire; Chris (Melanie), Cole; Tracy (Richard), Emma, Brandon, Andrew; as well as eight brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street) Saskatoon on Monday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at The Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral (816 Spadina Crescent East) Saskatoon.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice at Glengarda for looking after our dad in his final days. In lieu of flowers, Herb had requested any donations be made to Telemiracle.
