Irene Ida Heinrichs

She was born in Rosetown, SK, March 14, 1949, daughter of Melita Zacharias and Bruno Heinrichs. Due to the death of her mother and other circumstances, she was brought up by Melita’s parents, Isaak and Susanna Zacharias.

She was an out-going person and made friends at school easily. After leaving the Mennonite RJC High School, she went to secretarial school in Saskatoon and worked at CFQC until her position went to Calgary. At that point, she retired from work. Irene had an ear for music and played the piano well and later the classical guitar. She loved to disco dance and go out to the night scene. She loved being an auntie to Martin and gave him a dollar for each birthday until the birthdays got too high.

She leaves to mourn her sisters Ruth (William Stahl) and Elaine (Glen Dirksen), nephews Martin (Talya Schapiro) and their child Ellie, James (Alyson Dewey), and niece Kelly (Robert) and their children Rachel and Mason.

A Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Mourning Glory – Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel at (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, SK). For those unable to attend please visit www.faithproductions.ca/livestream to view the service.
