Our beautiful wife, mom, and grandma passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at her care residence The Cozy Nest at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her husband Ron Watson, daughters Ellen Kinzie (Francis), Kelly Watson (Kevin Fordyce) and son Ken Watson (Carla). Grandchildren Jason Kinzie (Cori Anne), Marty Kinzie (Darcy), Jamie Siroski (Blaine), Caitlynn Zlatnik (Trevor), Deanna Seaman (Kevin), Reid Watson (Zoe), AJ Fordyce and Lacey Fordyce. Great grandchildren Kohlby, Jayden, Brandt, Claire, Owen and Garrett. Irma has two surviving sisters Sylvia Dionne (Dennis) and Merlyn Savoie (Eli). She was predeceased by her parents Amanda and Benjamin Pullman, brother Art and sister Florence.
Irma was born in Saskatoon on August 4, 1934, to Amanda and Benjamin Pullman. She was raised and worked hard on the family farm at Beaver Creek, Sask. She had a great love of horses, animals and gardening from a young age. Irma attended a small rural school before moving into Saskatoon where she obtained her grade 12 at a Technical School.
Irma met her lifelong partner Ronald Watson at their rural school in grade one and years later they married December 15, 1956, during a typical Saskatchewan winter blizzard day. Ron and Irma built a life together on Big Valley Ranch where they raised cattle, grain and hay. She was a farm wife that could do it all; she drove tractors, helped with harvest, milked cows, kept all kinds of different chickens, goats, mini donkeys, parrots and had the nicest weed free garden in the community. Irma and Ron’s family soon began to grow with daughters Ellen and Kelly, then son, Ken coming a few years later.
Known for her quick wit, funny stories and jokes, Irma was always up for a good visit with family and friends. She was a great cook and always had treats ready in case someone came to the farm. Her laugh and smile will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial will be held at the farm Monday July 21 at 3pm, as per Irma’s wishes. If you would like to make a donation in Irma’s honour, we suggest the Canadian Cancer Society in support of Women’s Breast Health and Research.
Lastly, the family would like to thank all the kind doctor’s and staff at the Saskatchewan Cancer Center, and The Cozy Nest. All your caring and kindness for mom was a blessing and will not be forgotten.
