It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Jaworski. Jean died peacefully with family by her side on September 10, 2014 at the age of 90. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Maureen (Ron) Wallace and Linda Jaworski. She will also be missed by her sister Stanis Holloway and her beloved grandchildren Colin Wallace and Nicole (Jordan) Leier and great grandchildren Jonathan and Brayden. Jean was predeceased by her husband Theodore (Ted) Jaworski, her son Ted, her parents Nicolas and Katherine Holowacz and her sister Helen. Jean was born on October 5 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended school in Winnipeg and worked at the Winnipeg Grain Exchange prior to her marriage. In 1946 Jean married the love of her life Theodore (Ted) Jaworski. After their honeymoon, they went into partnership with family and owned and operated hotels in
Morris, Selkirk, Winnipeg and Moose Jaw. Ted and Jean enjoyed traveling to such places as Jamaica, Bermuda, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Hawaii, Barbados, Arizona and California. Jean was accomplished in everything she tried. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, folk art and curling. She was a member of the "Quilting Angels" at St. Patrick's Parish for many years. Jean and Ted also built a cabin at Wakaw Lake where they loved spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Gardens Personal Care Home #4 for all their loving care and attention. A very special thanks to Dr. Andrew Harrington, Dr. Anita Agrawal and the Palliative Home Program for their care. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church at 3339 Centennial Drive, the celebrant will be Rev. Father Gerard Cooper. Rite of Committal of her cremains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada at 205-145 Front St. East Toronto, Ontario M5A 1E3 and the Canadian Diabetes Association 104-2301 Ave C North Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5.
