

CUMMINS, Joseph William
At 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, surrounded by his family, Joe went to meet his Lord and reunite with the love of his life. Joe, son of William and Clare Cummins, lived his entire life on the farm, settled by his parents at Blucher. He moved his bride, Isabelle Boechler, to the farm on October 29, 1952. They raised their 8 children on the farm. Joe and Isabelle loved to entertain. There always seemed to be all kinds of people coming and going. Dad was involved with the church and community. Dad also served on RM council from 1970 to 1978 and was Reeve from 1979 to 2000. Joe was the best Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa ever of: Bill (Marie), Billy (Megan, Ireland and Brinley), Orion (Kayleigh, Lyra) and Shane (Jackie); Blair (Marina), Stacey (Kelly Brilz, Hudson, Carter and Harbour), Viktoria (Scott Knezacek and Carter); Leanne (Ross Weatherald), Jason (Keshia and baby) and Tyler; Lenard (Deb), Amanda (Regan Will, Blake and Natylie), Chad (Stacey); Mary (Lane Nedelec), Niki (Travis Whiting, Harley and Jorie), Rebecca, Jessica (Clark Conacher and Chantai, Kierra and Chanel), Rochelle (son Emmet), Riley, Monica; Marty (Paige), Liam and Ayden; Norine (Kevin Miller) Robert and Michael; Nerissa (Rob Dutton), Allyson and Jack; Diana, Hunter and Robert. Dad is survived by his brother Mickey and his sister Kathleen Bitz, and sisters-in-law Ileen Boechler and Marilyn Boechler. A huge thank-you to Joe’s ladies (Blennda, Lise and CJ) for all the care and love they gave to Joe in his last 8 months! A special thank-you to the doctors and nurses of RUH Emergency, RUH Cardiac and St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit. The Vigil for Joe will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Both services will be held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (1902 Munroe Ave. S.) in Saskatoon, SK. A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date.
