August 24, 1950 – October 18, 2015
Julian John Bray passed away peacefully and surrounded by family and friends on the night of Sunday, October 18. Julian was born in Ahmadi, Kuwait, where he spent the first nine years of his life before his travels took him to several different countries, including England, Germany, and Canada, where Julian met and married Rose (nee Praksas) and the two of them would eventually settle in Saskatoon. Besides his family and dogs, Julian’s greatest passion was his career as an Executive Chef at the Park Town Hotel, where the staff became a second family to him over the past 18 years. An avid golfer, Julian could be found hitting the greens whenever possible. Julian is survived by his wife of 26 years, Rose; two children, Brian (Iris) and Kathryn (Lloyd); three grandchildren, Ida (12), Martha (6), and Logan (2); sisters, Ingrid, Jennifer (Martin Sr.), and Jackie (Leo); his best friend of 30 years, Burt Walker, who has become family more than friend; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents John and Kaete (nee Nagel); and parents-in-law, Albert and Helene. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Francis Xavier (222 Willow Street, Saskatoon) on Thursday, October 22nd at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate Julian’s life.
