On June 22, 2015 we marked the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Jean Wong, at St. Paul’s Hospital. Jean was born in China on August 30, 1944 to Lee Sing Kuen and Nip Chu Moon. In 1964 she emigrated from Hong Kong to Canada to marry Sam Wong in the Town of Gull Lake, SK where she started her family. Jean lived in Saskatchewan for 50 years, residing in Gull Lake, Regina and Saskatoon.
Jean was a sociable woman with a youthful outlook who enjoyed music, singing and dance. Dance was her passion - over the years she tried many forms from line dancing to ballroom. Jean loved performing with local Chinese, Middle-Eastern, and folk dance groups where she made many friends. Jean was proud of her Chinese heritage and volunteered often at the Chinese Folkfest pavilion as well as the Saskatoon Food Bank preparing income tax returns.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Sam and is survived by her two children Connie (Al) and Peter (Rachel); her four grandchildren Jason, Drake, Lily and Andrew; and her dog, Teddy.
