Katie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert, her son Darrel (Linda), daughters Debra and Corey; grandchildren Ryan (Tracy), Riley (Katie), Tate (Dakota), Taylor and Rebecca (Aaron) and great grandchildren Emily, Henry, Isla and Charlie. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Sean.
Katie was a very talented athlete who participated in many activities throughout her life. She excelled in curling in winter and golf in the summer. She could often be seen on the golf course even when her health condition required her to run back to the cart for a shot of oxygen.
Katie was very creative and was passionate about knitting. She spent many hours hand knitting and learning and exploring her knitting machines and the magic she was able to produce. She kept records of everything she knitted and detailed what was made, for who and how much yarn was used.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Association in Katie’s memory.
There will be a family Celebration of Katie’s Life this summer.
