

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend, Leah Sampson on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in Saskatoon, SK. Leah leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
Leah was born on December 31, 1991, in Saskatoon. She spent her early years on the island in British Columbia before moving to Prince Albert for her middle and high school education. Leah went on to attend the University of Saskatchewan, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education in June 2017.
Leah was known for her quick wit, infectious humor, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Her love for children was evident in both her personal and professional life. Serving her community as a teacher in various schools throughout Saskatoon. Leah dedicated herself to making a positive impact on the lives of those around her.
Leah is survived by her loving family: mother, Nicolette Butzelaar; fathers, Paul Brooks and Paul Sampson; brothers, Riley Sampson, and Jerod and Aiden Brooks; sisters, Taylor Sampson and Paige Brooks; grandparents, Agnes and Nico Butzelaar, Kathy Wolokoff, Hiram and Bernice Brooks, Kenneth and Cecilia Sampson; aunts and uncles, including Darren and Dale Butzelaar, Michelle Talbot (Andrew), Jacklyn Butzelaar, Donna Brooks (Linda Bjork), Kristi Sampson, Kim Gossett, cousins; Alecia and Benjamin Butzelaar, and also many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Leah’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to EGADZ, a local organization that supports youth and is close to Leah's heart. As we grieve her loss, we take solace in the knowledge that great grief is born out of great love.
Vigil of Prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday August 22, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday August 23, 2024.
