Lillian passed away at Sherbrooke Community Centre in Saskatoon on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the age of 101 years. Lillian was born in Rosthern, SK on June 6, 1914 and grew up in Humboldt. She moved to Saskatoon to attend Normal School and then taught in communities throughout Saskatchewan for 35 years. She met the love of her life, Ernest, while teaching and they were married in 1938. The majority of Lillian’s career was spent in Guernsey, SK from 1955 to her retirement in 1970. After her retirement she and Ernest moved to Saskatoon, where she remained until her passing. Lillian enjoyed gardening, travelling and spending time with her family in her later years. Lillian is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joan Lasiuk; grandson, Brian (Nicole) Lasiuk and their son, Jacob; grandson, Warren (Nicole) Lasiuk and their daughter, Lily; sister, Irene Wheeler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest (1972); son, David (2009); son-in-law Walter Lasiuk (1994), parents, Dave & Rose Gloeckler and sisters, Edna Duncanson, Jean Moore, Pearl Gloeckler, and 2 brothers in infancy.
