LoLo Carignan, late of Saskatoon SK, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022. She was predeceased by her three sisters and her brother. She will be missed by her six children; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as other extended family members.
In the mid-1970’s LoLo started a short-term job at the Prince Albert Community Service Center. This turned into 13 years of work in various areas including Friendly Visiting with seniors, Helping Hands to coordinate small repairs and yard work for seniors, and doing payroll for Home Services. She also got her chauffeur’s license and did some dispatching as well as driving for Seniors Transportation. During this time, she also got her grade 12 by GED and took various courses and workshops sponsored by the Service Center.
She also became involved with the Salvation Army and was proud to be commissioned as an officer in 1988. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the Thrift Store, visiting ill, disabled and senior people in nursing homes, in the hospital, and in their homes.
One of LoLo’s greatest legacies is that she passed on to her children a deep and enduring love of music and many fond memories of family gatherings with playing guitars and singing songs as the centerpiece.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Central Haven home for their excellent and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in LoLo’s memory can be made to any location of the Salvation Army.
A Celebration of Lolo's life will be held on Saturday August 13, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Acadia Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive).
Arrangements entrusted to Chelsea Krentz.
