Born in Tisdale on October 24, 1936, Marilou grew up in Zenon Park, Saskatchewan. She was the second youngest of eleven children. In 1959, Marilou joined the Sisters of Mission Service. She generously served in a variety of ministries such as nursing, parish work, chaplaincy and she also served in Leadership for her Community for a total of twelve years. After retirement Marilou developed a special interest in the story of the Universe and Care for the Earth-believing deeply that the Universe is an evolving story of God’s presence.
Marilou will be greatly missed and remembered for her compassion, her quality of presence, her good sense of humor, her deeply grateful heart and how she constantly strived to live simply.
Surviving to cherish her memory are: her religious Community, her youngest sister Marie-Ange, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The Sisters of Mission Service wish to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for their attentive care and as well to the staff and community at Trinity Manor in Saskatoon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 11, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Avenue South Saskatoon). Following the reception the Rite of Committal will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
