MOE, Mercine Margaret
February 12, 1963 - January 26, 2021
In the early morning hours, our beloved Mercine passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour following a lengthy struggle with breast cancer. Mercine was a devoted friend to many. Her life was spent in the service and caring of others. She worked in child care with many families and with seniors in care homes. Her favourite work was in ladies fashion. Her gracious and loving smile was matched with her impeccable clothing, meticulous hair and makeup. She was a creative decorator with a talent to restore well worn items into treasures. Born in Barbados, she came to Canada as a young person and made her life in Saskatoon. One of her proud achievements was receiving the highest mark on her citizenship exam and becoming a Canadian citizen. Mercine was predeceased by her father Everton Brathwaite and grandmother Jordan. She is survived by her mother Winona Parris, sisters Roslyn Parris (Marlon), Suzanne Bolden, Sharone Moe, Sabrina Harris, Debra Lucas and brothers Robert Moe and Wayne Moe. She will be missed by her “girls” Lindsey and Caitlin and close friends Joanne, William, Dan and James, David, Gwen, Judy, Joan, Harcourt, Jeffrey, Bernie, Bill and Paul and many, many others in Canada and Barbados. Thank you to all those who helped her in recent years as she battled her disease so valiantly. She treasured her friends and appreciated kind gestures. She was also grateful for the medical team that helped her through her cancer journey, notably Drs Iqbal and Wright. We will miss her warm hugs, beautiful smile and gregarious personality. Donations may be made to Hope Cancer Help Centre Inc, an organization that assists cancer patients financially. Please contact through email: [email protected] A gathering to celebrate her life will be arranged at a later date, when it is safe to do so.
