Moureen was born in Eston, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1961 to Cecil and Catherine McDonald. Moureen was raised on the farm for the first nine years of her life before moving to Elrose where she completed her schooling. After high school, she had various jobs in Elrose and then moved to Saskatoon in 1988 to live with her sister Colleen, where she opened her first daycare. In 2003, she purchased the house next door to Colleen and continued to run her successful daycare. She retired in 2022 after almost 35 years of childcare.
Moureen was an active member of her neighbourhood as she liked nothing better than to meet and talk to all of her neighbours and anyone that walked by her house. She always knew what was happening on the street.
Moureen enjoyed meeting people and had the ability to sit and talk to anyone whether she knew them or not. Moureen was non-judgmental and was genuinely interested in the other person's life. She was kind, caring, compassionate, and generous to a fault. She had a great sense of humor, a quick wit, and loved to laugh.
Moureen loved her Friday night bingo sessions, her Tuesday and Thursday exercise classes at the Fieldhouse with her sister-in-law, Amy, playing cards and game nights with her family and her friend, Pam, watching professional curling games (live or on TV), Saskatchewan Roughrider games and even the occasional hockey game. She also enjoyed watching reality TV shows especially America's Got Talent, The Voice, and 90 Day Fiancé. She loved music and some of her favourite artists were Celine Dion, Reba, and Saskatchewan's own Hunter Brothers. She also loved her family, her dogs, her daycare children, and finishing most days with a good gossip session with her friend Wendy. Moureen was predeceased by her dad, Cecil, in 1976 her mom, Catherine, in 2019, and her sister, Beth, in 2019; two brothers, Kenny and Michael; grandparents Edward and Mary McMahon, and Austin and Caroline McDonald. Moureen is survived by her siblings: Lyle (Amy) McDonald (Saskatoon); Ed McDonald (Kamloops, BC); Linda McDonald (Edmonton, AB); Colleen McDonald (Saskatoon); nephew Leigh (Laura) McDonald (Martensville); niece Raya (Clae) Hack (Saskatoon); nephew Sean (Amy Gibson) McDonald (Saskatoon); and niece Shyann McDonald (Saskatoon); great nephews Luke McDonald and Archer McDonald , great nieces, Hailey and Rylie Hack and Nora McDonald; close friends Pam Hammel; Wendy Morin and daughter Akira; great neighbors Jim Wyant and Chris and Ken Meier.
