We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Neil on November 13, 2022 in Saskatoon. Neil leaves to mourn his loving family, father and best friend Les, sister Lisa Wensley (Mitch) and his nieces Madelyn and Karmen Wensley. Fondly remembered by his uncles and aunts: Harold (Sandra) Hoffman, Dale (Jane) Hoffman, Ferne (Bob) Mercer and Ron (Natalie) Sharp; many cousins and their families and some very special and loyal lifelong friends. Predeceased by his mother, Shirley, and grandparents: Louis and Ethel Hoffman and Louis and Isabelle Sharp. Neil grew up in Saskatoon, graduating from Aden Bowman Collegiate. He spent a career of 36 years with Saskatoon Coop, working his way up the ladder through various departments and stores. Neil was well respected by his co-workers, customers and friends for his intellect, ingenuity and sharp-witted humour. He cherished 35 years spent at the family cabin at Candle Lake, investing much time and effort in building and renovation projects there and at home. He utilized, enhanced and fine-tuned every motorized vehicle and tool he touched to the fullest. Quality and precision were key. He was an avid spectator of air shows, rock concerts, and particularly enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling every trail from Emma to Candle Lake on winter get-aways. Neil had a profound appreciation for intricate details and good craftsmanship, be it in building projects, vehicles and aircrafts, or his Mom’s quilts. He watched the Roughriders faithfully with Dad, through good times and bad. For those fortunate to know Neil, he was a great man. Tributes in Neil’s memory may be made to a meaningful charity of your choice or to First Saskatchewan Lutheran Church (Box 177, Langham SK, S0K2L0). There will be no service at this time. A Private Interment will take place in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Aimé Laventure.
