

Oliver Norman (Norm) Wurtz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 at the age of 96. He was born on May 27, 1916 to Jacob and Annie Wurtz on the farm west of Langham, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Constance (Connie), daughter Norma Jean (Allen), grand-daughter Wendy, son Dale (Donna), son-in-law Callum Mackay, grandson Gavin (Ashley), great grand-daughters Logan and Kamryn and grandson Braden, his sister Bertha Mierau and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by his brothers Walter and James, sisters Viola Mae, Bessie and Mary and by his youngest daughter Karen. Norm served overseas during WWII in the Royal Canadian Field Artillery. After the war, Norm worked for the CNR for 32 years in the Car Dept. retiring in 1980. He enjoyed many years of bowling, golfing and playing cards. Norm was also known for always having a new joke or story to tell. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Dr. Saskatoon.
