With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sgt. (Ret'd) Norman Neil Barker, whose journey in life gracefully concluded on August 30, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Though Norman may no longer walk beside us, he left behind cherished memories that will forever echo in our hearts.
He is survived by wife Kathleen (Muncey) of 54 years; and daughter Debbie (Ens). He is predeceased by his parents William and Lillian Barker (Hanson); brothers Jack Barker, Floyd Barker, Fred Barker, and George Barker; sisters Vera Range, Vivian Manson, and Lucille Lloyd. Norm was born February 12, 1939, and raised in Turtleford, SK until about the age of six when his parents moved down east to Deseronto, ON. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces as an Air Defense Tech for 34 years during which time he was stationed in BC, QC, NY, SK (CFS Dana 78 - 87), NWT, and ON. Upon his retirement, Norm and Kathy moved back to Saskatchewan to be closer to family and their cottage at Turtle Lake. Here Norm enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching his favorite sports teams on television. As per Norm’s request, no funeral service will be held.
