Olga passed away suddenly at the age of 90 years. Olga spent her final years living at Ilarion Residence where she loved the company of the other seniors and staff, and always enjoyed having her meals prepared, her room cleaned, and only being responsible for putting together jigsaw puzzles.
Olga grew up on the family farm in the Smeaton area. Her parents, Mike and Carolina Olinyk, had 14 children in total. Olga married Mike Stankowski in 1953 and lived on a farm in the MacDowall area. They had two sons: Michael and Lockhart. Michael passed away in 1975. After retiring from farming in 1978, Olga and Mike moved to Moose Jaw. In 1994, they moved one final time to live in Saskatoon to be closer to their grandchildren. Using Saskatoon as a home base, they both enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. Mike passed away in 2005.
Olga enjoyed gardening, volunteering, garage sales, and traveling. Her lemon meringue pies were a staple of every family gathering - and loved by all. Olga's number one passion in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Olga was loved and will be missed by her son Lockhart, his wife Maria, and her three grandchildren: Michael, Isaiah and Angela.
At Olga's request, there will be no funeral or service.
