Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Wendy; his son Leighton (Jolie); granddaughter Kinsley; daughter Carolann (Paul); brother Rick; nephew Joe and nieces Lee Ann and Holly.
Randy spent his early years in Regina where he had fond memories of his extended family and friends. He later moved to Saskatoon with his parents and brothers, attending Bedford Road Collegiate.
In his thirties, Randy changed paths from blue-collar work into finance and insurance, a reflection of his determination and willingness to take on new challenges. It was during this this same time that Randy took up golf, a game he both loved and excelled at. It perfectly suited his competitive spirit, and he was proud to have achieved a “hole-in-one”.
Randy had a big personality and was often described as a character. He loved conversation and had a great sense of humor. He was quick-witted and always had memorable one-liners ready. A large part of Randy’s life centered around his family and close friends whom he protected, cherished and loved.
He had a huge heart for animals and loved spending time with his four-legged friends. We are going to miss the spark in his bright blue eyes and will always remember and love him. He left as he lived – protecting, loving, and keeping our hearts at peace.
Randy’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all his caregivers at Sherbrooke Community Centre for their excellent care, compassion and laughter they shared with Randy. At Randy’s request, no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Randy’s memory can be made to Sherbrooke Community Centre (401 Acadia Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7H 2E7, Canada).
