We are broken hearted to announce the passing of Ray Duperreault on July 3, 2025 - his 79th birthday. Ray is survived by his wife Edith (nee Orliczek), of 57 years, his daughter Jennifer (Allan) Awrey, his son Anthony (Rachel Koo) Duperreault, his grandsons Taylor (Jodie Diederichs) Awrey and Jayden Awrey, his brother-in-law Bob Hutchinson, brother Ralph (Ginette) Duperreault, sister Jeanne (Tim Appelt) Duperreault, sister Louise (Peter ) Unger, sister Christine (Christopher) Pook, sister Colette Duperreault, brother Joseph (Anneli) Duperreault, brother Damien Duperreault, sister Monique Duperreault, 18 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Cleas and Aurelie Duperreault, his sister Elaine Hutchinson and brother and sister-in-law Michael & Sheila Duperreault.
Ray was born July 3, 1946 in Lucky Lake, SK. He was raised there until the family moved to Saskatoon at age 5. He attended St Francis Separate School and graduated from St Paul's Catholic High School. His very first job was as a paperboy for the Saskatoon Star Phoenix at age 11, followed by working on a farm in the summer months at ages 16 and 17. His lengthy photofinishing career started at Johnson's Photo in the basement of the Bus Depot. Ray was later offered to be Operations Manager at Reliable Photo Lab where he worked until he retired. Ray began "courting" with Edith in the summer of 1965 and they married January 6, 1968 and remained together until his passing.
In celebration of Ray's life, a service will be held Friday July 11th, 2025 at 10:00 am (viewing at 9:30 am) at Mourning Glory – Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel - 915 Acadia Drive Saskatoon, SK. Interment will be thereafter at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your donation to a charity of your choice.
