It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rene Paul St. Arnaud on June 8, 2024 in Saskatoon. Rene was born in Saskatoon on September 27, 1960. He attended St. Charles Elementary and Holy Cross High Schools. During these formative years he showcased his talents as mad scientist, gadget maker, lover of animals and all things science-related.
After high school Rene moved to Toronto to further his studies at Ryerson College and begin his career in photography and video animation. It is there that his creativity grew and was fostered by his many co-workers. The friendships that were forged and the memories of the many workplace hijinks that ensued hold strong to this day.
Rene moved back to Saskatoon in 2018 where he rekindled relationships with family and friends. Rene was quiet and unassuming and always kind and generous. He was blessed with endless creativity, innate curiosity and a delightful sense of humour. He will be dearly missed.
Rene was predeceased by his parents, Therese and Roland St. Arnaud and is survived by his sister Lise Thring and brother Marc St. Arnaud. He leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews Ashley, Camille, Jamieson, Tyrell Thring, and Michael, Carter, Danielle, and Daxton St. Arnaud.
René’s family thanks the Home Care nurses and Palliative Care team for their unwavering support and kindness throughout this challenging time.
Celebration of life will take place later this summer.
Rest in peace, Rene. We love you.
