Rhonda Shelley Penny

Rhonda Shelley Penny, 69, passed away on March 15, 2026. She was a loving, strong, and deeply nurturing woman whose family meant everything to her.

She had a gift for always being there at just the right moment—often before you even knew you needed her. Rhonda loved crafting (and organizing her craft supplies just as much) and shared a special love of music with her family and friends. Whether she was sitting in on a jam or at a show, her real magic was the way she’d find the perfect harmony for any song.

She spent many years as a hairstylist, later teaching at Marca College and continuing as a tutor after retirement. Alongside her husband, Robert (Bud) Penny, they ran many businesses together including a coffee shop and art gallery in Wakaw, where they shared many meaningful years together.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Tyler (Hailey) and their child Willow, Cody (Jenna) and their children Noah & Jude, Dustin (Laurie, Tasha) and their child Lexi, Whitney (Joel) and their children: Axtyn, Maddison, London & Beckam; her brother Wendell and her sister Lona; and many other extended family and friends.

Her vibrant love, unwavering strength and profound presence will always be felt.
